Lucid Body Basics 1 This is the foundation course to the teachings of the Lucid Body technique. We use the chakra centers as the tools for how we define human behavior. This class is where we diagnose where our habits live for our acting and how we can start to choose to move into different parts of self for character. Lucid Body Basics 2 Building upon the foundation, we start to explore the archetypes, the the connection between our movement and acting process. Where we start explore the complexities of character. (Basics 1 required)Rasa Aesthetics A technique by Antonin Artaud. The rasas contain the 9 pure emotions of human behavior. We start within each rasa to try on and then we begin layering for character. Further playing with intentions and actions. Physical Process for auditioning A technique strategy to help with any audition. Learn how to create complex characters for the audition, learn how to take an adjustment during an audition, and how to stay grounded before and during the audition. Shadows Workshop Learn how to respond and react from character point of view. We will be exploring our personal shadows and building a character and scene from these. This work stems from Jungian theories. When we own our shadows, we can then access that energy truthfully and without judgement for character. (Basics required)Finding the Character through Lucid Body We will read through a play together and learn how to breakdown character analytically in order to play it psychophysically. Looking at the play from the point of view of the playwright and how the characters might fit into archetypical roles. We will discover the wants and needs of character and build them on our feet as we go. character/archetype workshop Exploring and embodying multiple archetypes in this class. Or bring a character to work with. We will explore creating a multi-faceted character by layering two contrasting archetypes. We will begin the class with a physical warm up. If you have text memorized, we will also incorporate the text in coaching.Intensives Any of these courses might be offered as an intensive. With any intensive, expect a lot of work condensed into a short amount of time. We work more quickly in this class so come prepared. online courses Any of these courses might be offered online to cater to those near and far who want the work. This is a great chance to stay involved in the work if you do not have access to a teacher nearby or if you have time constraints on your day.
